Fluency in Spanish is not a prerequisite for volunteer in Cusco programs, however on certain projects; Medical in particular, volunteer work will be restricted with limited language ability. We recommend that volunteers take advantage of the very affordable language lessons our partner staff in Cusco. Past volunteers feel that taking these lessons help immensely with day-to-day volunteer work and communicating with local people.
The language lessons are tailored to each volunteer's current level of Spanish and classes run from Monday through to Friday.

The Group Spanish Course is our most requested program because they are designed to learn Spanish as quickly as possible. These classes are given completely in Spanish for all levels.
These are set-up with 2 people or a couple who are at the same level. You can choose the number of hours and days you would like to study Spanish. You may also choose areas you would like to focus on.
The salsa lessons are fun the dance teacher make a group or partner dance class depending on the preferences of the students. Normally they take place in a disco between 21:00 hrs and 23:00 hrs and are free to cusqueños, so there is a good way to meet new friends and practice your Spanish.
In this activity a guide will take you to the most native market in Cusco “San Pedro Market”, venturing into its depths to comprehend the variety of product from the Andes and exotic fruits from the jungle.
